In this content release, players will be able to journey the. infamous Black Rose Keep. Here are some highlights that players can expect
• Explore a vast new dungeon: The sprawling fortress is filled with challenges, secrets and treasures for groups of adventurers from level 15 to 40.
. Conquer Black Rose Keep: Delve into the fortress to face two epic boss encounters and hunt down over 20 rare NPCs. Loot and glory awaits.
. Descend into the Chasm: Venture far beneath the Keep into the chasm labyrinth where you may chance upon the camp of the nomadic Aridola. But tread carefully – Zakaat goblins and countless other deadly creatures have made the maze
their home.
. Peer Into Thronefast’s past. Players can gain insight into pivotal moments in the kingdom’s recent history and the shadowy intrigue surrounding E’mani Karos and his Black
Rose,
• Use your perception: Investigate rumors, overhear whispered conversations, and unravel a web of intrigue behind Thronefast’s recent turmoil, from the disaster in the Veil of Azeris to the shadowy organizations vying for power in its wake.
Rumors persist of merchants, nobles and even Thronefast Regulars being attacked across the southern lands Somehave. reported seeing mercenary soldiers manning the Keep s walls. But with no official word on the status of the Keep itself some, adventurers have been compelled to investigate. Those that d0 should be prepared for a hostile reception.
World
• The Black Rose Keep zone has been added to the game
• Merchants and Trainers in the village of Demith now consider themselves residents of Demith and have mostly cut ties with their old hometowns.
• An Alchemist trainer now resides in Demith.
– Goblin junk stashes in Thronefast are now less likely to respawn immediately after being looted by enterprising scavengers.
NPCs
• We are beginning a process to increase the strength of many of our named NPCs to provide more of a challenge. This is an ongoing process, and tuning adjustments will be made over the next several content releases
. Ash Breathers now consider the ubiquitous beetles infesting their home to be less of a threat and should be less likely to attack them.
. Zaruk the Sightweaver’s Life Drain ability should no longer be able to drain additional life from players after they have died and released to their bind point
Items
. Corrected tooltip for Myrmidon’s Battlegrips
. Increased duration of the proc on Scepter of Smoldering Symbols from 6 to 9 seconds
– Fixed Twisted Dragonbone Ring usable classes (added
WIZ, removed SHM)
• Adjusted the distribution of items in TelDaedras’ loot table so that some of the rarer items have an increased chance to drop.
– Changed Draconic Adept’s Headband appearance to something more appropriate
. Updated Soldier’s Kite Shield and Reinforced Tower Shield
. The description text for Ruddy Mushrooms now properly explains their effects when consumed.
Quests
. Corrected an issue that was preventing the final quest item from being awarded to players that successfully defeated Tel’Daedras. Players who previously did not obtain the item will need to defeat her again; however, the item should then be awarded properly to all players present. Players should make sure they have at least one inventory slot open and are present in the room when she is killed to receive the quest item.
– Updated the quest objective for The Secret of the Stones. Players who have this quest active in their journal will need to abandon it and then retake it from the quest giver However, once that is done, the quest will be able to be completed after obtaining the quest item (mentioned above) from defeating Tel’Daedras.
. The Molten Sentinel should once again drop their associated key.
• The quest “Burlap for Elawin’ has been retitled to use the correct NPC’s name. If you have this quest currently active in your journal, the title change may not be reflected, but you can still complete the quest
Gathering
. Apple trees have been updated for better visual identification from a distance.

Necromancer
• Lifetap line healing increased from 33% to 50%
Rogue
• Toxic Elixir duration increased from 20 seconds to 30 seconds
Bug Fixes
• Fix for zone names not having spaces between multiple words when being displayed below the compass
. Fixed an issue where sometimes it wasn’t possible to change chat channel colors.
• Fixed a group issue that happened sometimes after zoning where a group member would be told they weren’t in a group, despite still having group Ul elements and other group members seeing them in the group.

• Added a chat message to let the player know when they don’t have enough room in their inventory to accept a quest that needs to give them some items.
Bug Fixes
• Illusionary floors in some dungeons should once again allow players to pass through them.
• Zakaat goblins have lost access to orc skeletons and now summon their minions from a different source.
• Fixed an issue with crafting where it sometimes wasn’t allowing ingredient items to be put into crafting slots for some schematics.
• Corrected an issue that could cause the portal for Magelord Khro’kamen to potentially fail to spawn in all circumstances where it should have.
• It should no longer be possible to trigger Vice Baron Requias without having the appropriate quest active.
• The erroneous zoneline in the caves below Hanggore has been removed, and players should now properly remain in Avendyr’s Pass (with the orcs and the cold) while navigating the caverns.
• The open warfare between the Ulthirians and Black Rose forces in Halnir cave has come to an end, although minor skirmishes may still occur from time to time.
• Corith Malis has fully embraced the importance of playing the long game and will no longer immediately attempt to murder players who haven’t really done anything to offend him… yet.
• Players should no longer briefly zone into the Eastern Plains while crossing into the Silent Plains from Avendyr’s Pass.
• Mind-Controlled Humans should now attempt to close with their targets before using Shatter Self
• Summoned Woodland Wolves no longer grant experience when killed
• Summoned Mercenaries for Hire no longer grant experience when killed
• The Ooshavan Bloodsworn should now only target valid opponents with its Frenzied Rush ability.
• Mirekin NPCs should now assist other Mirekin NPCs that are engaged in combat with players.
• Snare effects should no longer work on many boss NPCs.
• Shaman armor debuffs now overwrite lower ranked versions of themselves when cast.
• Spirits of Flame should once again spawn properly when fighting Tel’Daedras.
• Magelord Khro’kamen should no longer be able to be interrupted while casting Wildfire.
• Fixed an issue that would cause players to snap back to their original location if a knockback was applied while also affected by a stun, fear, or knockdown effect.
• Pets and NPCs can now properly navigate in the canyon that leads from Avendyr’s Pass into Black Rose Keep.
• Fixed a condition that would sometimes cause players to fal through the world and potentially become stuck when logging in, zoning, or returning to their bind point
Items
• Corrected item type of Butcher’s Gaff (is now set to longstaff)
• Reduced number of stat lines on Pyrite Chain Leggings (folded CON bonus into STA and AGI) and changed Dodge rating to Hit due to increased AGI and removal of CON
• Updated DMG/DLY for some ranged weapons: Lightweight Dragonbone Recurve, Giantdropper, Chillstrike and the Everburning bow. This will likely be adjusted again in the future, but for now there should be a more fitting power progression for them.

• Silencer Silence duration reduced from 12 seconds to 6 seconds, diminishing returns enabled
• Chemist Peculiar Brew fear effect has diminishing returns enabled
• Phiros Mage Blaze Rush distance reduced to 15m (down from 25m)
• Steward Sleeping Tonic has diminishing returns enabled
• Black Rose Wolfcallers should once again use their namesake ability effectively.
• Yerrin Foldt should no longer immediately assault players he doesn’t like.
• Quartermaster Bura’s Armsman Buff has been adjusted
• The Chasm Skeeters should no longer be able to multiply infinitely when angered.
• Black Rose Keep NPC abilities that summon other NPCs should now enforce their full cooldown when interrupted by players, meaning that it will take longer before the NPC tries to use the ability again. Note that some of these summon- type abilities (especially for bosses) are not interruptible by design.
• Abilities used by Glow Moths should no longer force other nearby NPCs into combat with the moth.
• Several tuning changes have been made to Magelord Khro’kamen to better reflect the intended difficulty of the encounter.
Hanggore
• Ooshaa’Ruk now checks for LoS with Frostifor Lightning
Quests
• Players will now be unable to accept the quest “The Legacy of Smoke and Stone” by clicking on its starter item until afte they have completed the quest “The Secret of the Stones”. Players who consumed their turn-in item for the Secret of the Stones before completing that quest may receive another one by defeating Tel’Daedras again.
• Players who were unable to loot the item after completing the quest “The Mirror Demands Blood” should now be able to face the NPC again and loot the item properly.
• The quest objective for the quest “Shadow Delivery” has been updated. Players who currently have this quest active in their journal should abandon it and retake it from the quest giver.
• Players who may have lost their Blood Mirror for any reason may obtain a replacement for a fee by speaking with Corith Malis.
Classes

• Food and drink items may now be foraged in the area around Black Rose Keep
Gathering
• A huge cedar tree in Black Rose Keep that was buried in the ground has been unburied.

General
• This update includes a fix for a Unity security vulnerability.
• This update includes a change to the game’s general water system in preparation for updates and improvements to swimming as well as other planned gameplay fixes. The new system should be functional; however, we ask that players please report any problems they encounter that involve water or swimming not functioning properly in the game via bug reports on our Discord.
• Following this update, players in the Silent Plains may encounter an unfinished area that is blocked off by invisible walls. This area will be fully opened for players to explore in our November game update.
World
• Demith villagers have decided to temporarily accept ogres and dire lords as equals (note: world factions will be reworked in the future and class/race standing modifiers will be re-added to various populations when that occurs).
• The Wander Guardian in Avendyr’s Pass should no longer attack Dire Lords on sight (note: world factions will be reworked in the future and class/race standing modifiers will be re-added to various populations when that occurs).
• Many gathering nodes that were previously inaccessible due to invisible walls in Thronefast and Avendyr’s Pass should now be accessible. Some nodes may still be inaccessible depending on their location.
• Lieutenant F ion Iridia and Magelord Khro’kamon in Black Rose Keep now have a chance to appear more often but will appear less predictably.
• Made several adjustments to Black Rose Keep to help reduce the chance that NPCs might aggro from rooms above or below where players are standing.
Bug Fixes
• Fix for an engine resource leak that would cause players to experience a client crash during play.
• Fixes for several issues that would cause characters to become stuck and unable to log back in after disconnecting from the game.
• Corrected improper zoneline to Eastern Plains in Avendyr’s Pass.
• Corrected bad collision in several areas of Avendyr’s Pass.
• Fixed an issue where crafted items would sometimes lose their stats after being looted from a player’s corpse.
• Possible fix for dead NPCs sometimes moving back to where they were before they entered combat.
• The Unmortal Barrage ability used by some NPCs in Halnir cave should now properly heal the NPC, rather than the player.
• Fix for the echo in Halnir Cave, so says and shouts shouldn’t get duplicated in there anymore.
• Potential fix for characters getting stuck in Black Rose Keep after death.
• Skitterfang Spiders in Thronefast should no longer be quite so sensitive to the presence of adventurers who are simply walking along the path high above their cavernous lair, although they will still react violently to adventurers who enter their lair.
• The Lost Mining Crew in Thronefast should no longer claw their way out of the ground to attack adventurers on the road above them, although they will still be hostile to anyone who intrudes upon their resting place below.
• Fix for several places in Halnir Cave where collision was not loading properly.
• Dire Lord’s Essence Thief ability should no longer be able to hit enemies through walls.
• Fix for an issue that prevented LoS checks on NPC abilities that use splash damage projectiles from functioning properly.
NPCs
• Summoned wolves no longer grant experience when killed.
• Players will now correctly mine rock golems, instead of trying to skin them.

– Stone Cold Summer – Cure for the Blues – Removed the duplicate spawns of Greke, Jiaf, and Muok.

– Druid and Magician – Updated the Annihilate the Unnatural line of spells (beginning at level 73) to provide a greater advantage over normal spells when used against summoned and construct creatures. Increased the chances to fire Annihilate Resistances and Annihilate Destruction to 24% and 10-12% at all levels. Greatly increased the damage dealt and mana costs. Added a missing upgrade to Annihilate Destruction at level 88 and corrected the version of Annihilate Destruction that is triggered by Annihilate the Anomalous.
– Cleric and Paladin – Updated the Annihilate the Undead line of spells (beginning at level 86) to provide a greater advantage over normal spells when used against undead creatures. Increased the chances to fire Annihilate Resistances and Annihilate Destruction to 24% and 10-12% at all levels. Greatly increased the damage dealt and mana costs to be proportional to the Annihilate the Unnatural line.

– Changed all instances of Druzzil Ro to a new model that better represents the original concept art for Druzzil Ro.

*** Overseer ***

– Corrected an issue that could allow starting a quest with an incapacitated iconic agent.

– Fixed how Finishing Blow Headshots are calculated.
– Updated the /keyring command to allow specifying which tab should be opened, such as ‘/keyring mount’.

The Bite proc now reflects an increased amount of endurance to nearby allies. The Prism Skin reflection can now occur even if the Bite proc is resisted. Removed the proc limit for Bite procs. Increased mana costs to reflect the increased power of the buff. Updated the icons for the pet buff and the proc debuff.
– Beastlord – Improved the Spirit of Lightning line of pet proc buffs (starting with Spirit of Irionu) by doing the following: Increased damage and resist mods for the Strike proc. The Strike proc can now reflect Prism Skin whether it lands or not. Increased base duration of the buff to 75 minutes. Corrected the resist type of several Strike spells that did not follow the established rotation pattern (Lairn, Jeswin, Vaxztn, Kron, Shoru). Updated the icon for the pet buff. Increased mana cost to reflect the increased damage dealt by the spell line.

– Autogrant will now run the first time a character logs in or swaps persona after a new expansion unlocks.

– Adjusted where Zi-Thuuli of the Granite Claw and the chest it spawns fit in the random loot tables.

– Updated names on several The Outer Brood charms and necklaces (and their related tradeskill containers) so that the variant with the Defender’s prefix always has the highest AC.

– The overcharged orbs in the Silence the Cannons raid will now reset their timer if they are forced to find a new target.

– Rogue – Increased the damage dealt and hate modified by the Bleed and Jugular Slash lines of abilities.
– Hand of Holy Wrath VIII and Arms of Holy Wrath VIII now trigger their rank VIII Recourse instead of Rank VII.
– Necromancer – Improved the scaling of the rune and healing values in the Cascading Deathshield line. Renamed the subspells to be more consistent with other uses of Azia, Beza, and Caza.

– The hard cap for unspent AA points will now be enforced for all personas instead of just the one being logged into.
– Fixed an issue with the Paladin AA, Extended Preservation of Marr and the Shadow Knight AA, Extended Decrepit Skin that caused them to focus triggered effects.

– Reward previews that describe how much mercenary AA experience you will get should be more accurate.
– Rebalanced stats of level 121-125 mercenaries. Spells are unchanged.

– You can now change personas at the inn in Laurion Inn. This is a specially designated safe area that does not allow player combat. You will be notified of such areas with the message “You have entered/exited a safe area.”
– The Dark Reign, Norrath’s Keepers, and Hunters of Shard’s Landing factions will now be shared across personas.
– Transparency rendering within the scene has been improved.

*** Spells ***

– Wizard – Increased damage for Ethereal spells above level 102, starting with Ethereal Skyblaze/Rimeblast/Flash.
– Blocked buffs on characters and pets now behave themselves when switching persona.
– Resisting the effects of root and snare spells now removes the correct spell effect in the case where there are multiple movement effects active.

*** AA ***

– Fixed an issue with the Druid Focus AA, Improved Lunar Healing that prevented it from properly reducing the reuse of spells in the Lunarlight line.
– Fixed an issue with the Cleric Focus AA, Improved Divine Intervention that prevented it from properly reducing the reuse of spells in the Divine Intervention line. Additionally, the AA description has been updated to indicate that the amount of healing granted by the second heal attempt increases with higher ranks rather than the chance for the second heal to occur.

*** Overseer ***

– Added a speculative fix for the tutorial becoming stuck and not offering the correct max amount of active quests.

*** Progression Servers ***

– Servers with a level cap (such as Vaniki and Fangbreaker) will once again use the normal spell resist system.
– Removed a level difference penalty that was still applying to players on servers with a level cap in the normal spell resist system.

*** Miscellaneous ***

– Made several speculative fixes for DirectX texture stage crashes.
– You will no longer be given a pickzone timer if the zone you attempted to enter was full.
– Adjusted melee combat range to better match the target ring radius of the NPC. This change will be most noticeable for larger NPC such as Outer Brood dragons.
– Items can no longer be listed in the bazaar if they contain an augment.
– You can now invite players who are in other zones to your guild using the /guildinvite Name command.

*** UI ***

– Updated the Spell Display window to show the Spell Line that a spell belongs to.
– Updated player pet healing from reverse damage shields to go the Heals (Others) filter.
– Bandolier swapping no longer confuses the UI when loading a persona equipment set.
– Updated the default socials to be more relevant.
– Added container size as a Stat option when finding items or searching the bazaar.
– Added a View Characters button at server select that will display the names of characters you have on that server.
– Added the ability to hide familiars using /hidemodels or the option window.

Everquest Game Updates for April 2025

*** Highlights ***

– A new heritage crate, the Rallos Zek Heritage Crate, is available in the Marketplace.
– Added missions to the 26th anniversary content.

*** Items ***

– Added a slight chance for NPCs level 30 or greater in Echo Caverns to drop Spell: Remove Curse.
– “Adopted” metamorph items from crates are now Heirloom.
– Jade-Tinted Spectacles can now be converted into an augmentation version and back again.
– Added new icons for Inert Engrams and Energized Engrams that indicate the level of abilities they award.
– The Fellowship Registration Insignia will now reset its timer if it is in your Teleportation Key Ring and your teleport fails.
– Items that are not equip-able by the character, indicated by a yellow equipment slot, no longer modify the character’s stats.
– Dragon’s Hoard items should now go with you in a server transfer.
– Renamed Shard of Dark Matter to differentiate the items.

*** Tradeskills ***

– Recipes for Voidstone Infused Fish Scales will no longer return the source fish on failure.

*** Quests & Events ***

– The High Priest (Mission and Raid): Increased the interval between Penance and Purification in both the raid and mission slightly. There will be 3 less calls for these mechanics over the course of the raid event. Most importantly, entering the auras of the Ministers of Punishment or Cleansing with the appropriate debuff will grant a 10 second grace period from their negative effects. However, these auras will now check every 15 seconds and punish anyone in them without the debuff or that are in the grace period.
– The High Priest (Raid): Lowered the HP on the raid NPCs by 10% or less. Added a fix for the failure of the Undelivered achievement at the end of the raid. If there were messengers up when the boss was killed they could trigger an achievement failure. They will not anymore.
– Brood Architect Hazuri (Raid): Added a speculative fix to unripe experiments remaining in the event after a reset.
– Brood Architect Hazuri (Mission and Raid): Increased the delay between Hazuri spawning pools and using the ability linked to those pools. That delay was not present at all in the mission, so we have added it to the mission as well.
– Bristlebane Day: Cold Blooded Kiroric Huk in The Twilight Sea, and Kotunm, an ornate chest and Kiroric Huk (after completing the mission) in The Twilight Sea: Sea of Resurgence are now able to be found.

*** Spells ***

– Magician – Updated icons for the summoned items Quiver of Drenesh, Folded Quiver of Drenesh, Void Arrow, and Molten Dacite Orb.
– Cleric – Changed the Dissolve Corruption and Cleansing Acquittal lines of spells to allow targeting members of other groups.
– Druid – Changed the Fawnwalker’s Breeze line of spells to cure curse counters instead of corruption counters.
– Druid and Shaman – Changed the Chant of the Napaea line of spells to allow targeting members of other groups.
– Shaman – Changed the Blood of Nadox line of spells to allow targeting members of other groups.
– Corrected an issue that caused some ranks of the Aureate’s Bane line of spells to not fully remove some ranks of the Cure of Subjugation line of spells.
– Fixed a spell stacking blocker issue that affected spells including Virtue and Talisman of Kragg.
– Fixed a bug that prevented weapon stances from switching correctly.
– Corrected an issue that allowed NPCs to hit through certain defensive abilities such as Fortitude or Voiddance.
– Changing personas should more reliably respect blocked buffs.
– Altered the spell line names for many spell lines.

*** AA ***

– Most Focus AAs, including Synergy AAs, have been updated so that all ranks grant their benefits to every spell in their respective spell lines. AAs that exclusively focus the triggered effects of a spell line have not been updated.

*** NPCs ***

– The bar patrons in Timorous Falls no longer offer experience when killed.

*** Overseer ***

– Added a Mass Convert Agents button to the Agents tab of the Overseer Window. It will convert duplicate agents of one rarity, leaving a specified number of duplicates unconverted (with a minimum of 1 remaining). The same functionality is also available via /overseermassconvert.

*** Progression Servers ***

– Made minor tuning changes to the spell resist system used on Vaniki. Players should resist NPC spells more frequently, and players should land spells on lower level NPCs more frequently.
– Adjusted Mitigation of the Mighty so it appropriately reduces hand-to-hand damage instead of increasing it.

*** Miscellaneous ***

– You must now type the entire command when using /exit or /quit.
– Added a speculative fix for client rendering crashes and performance improvements.
– /queuemelody will no longer be interrupted if you have no target, run out of mana, out of range, or out of line of sight, unless no songs in the melody can be played.
– /queuemelody is now capable of playing the same song consecutively if it has no duration.
– Attempting to teleport to a campfire that was in a zone that is no longer up should now reset the cooldown on your Fellowship Registration Insignia.
– Altered the phrasing of the hidden items component of the 2025 Live Events achievement.
– Fixed a typo in a component of Bristlebane Day: A Cure for Kiroric Mission Challenges achievement.

*** UI ***

– Spell Failures chat messages have been split into Spell Failures (Yours) and Spell Failures (Others).
– When logging in, you will no longer see your entire ignore list in the chat window. You can still see the full list by doing /ignore.
– Fixed a bug where /lootnodrop usable wasn’t working properly.
– Resizing the game client window no longer reopens the inventory window if the real estate Plot Items window is open.
– Updated the confirmation message when transferring to a free trade server.
