Server issues

Had t wipe my blog due to the fact that the database was on a different server that I let my old domain name expire.  I let it go after 10 years of not having that name any longer.  So what I am going to do is repost here what I was able to salvage and then move forward.  I lost about two months of entries I think.  If I can ever recover them I will repost them as well.

Ding 86!

Qindaar was very happy last night, he Dinged Level 86 while in the Bloodfields with his good friends Vmalice and Valmantia. V (as his friends call him) is a Level 86 Necromancer while his wife Val is a level 86 Enchantress. We used to spend hours years ago playing, now we jump on in the evenings for an hour to do Daily’s and Saturday nights for 3 hours to kill. We have a great time at it.

Currently Qiindaar is still Soloing in Loping Plains doing quests for AA points. So far he has made 10 of them and is currently finishing up a chain quest. Note his great new flaming, flying mount. He gets around in style.

Excitement and Andreline

Spent the last two days doing daily’s with Vmalice and Valmantia, yesterday I solo’d in Loping plains with Qindaar to get the AA bonuses was amazed at how quickly your fighting skills return after a six year absence. Qindaar got a little carried away in the goblin camp and pulled half a dozen golblins. Qindaar fought with bravery and along side him his trusty Cleric Merc but one of the goblins turned into a VoidedSoul and ran off before Qindaar could root him, needless to say the entire zone was soon running towards Qindaar so he had no choice but to cast an evacuate spell to get the hell out of there.

Yesterday we managed to get 8% XP towards his level 86 and earned an AA point plus 50% into the next one. Hope to level by the week’s end.

Qindaar experienced his first daily yesterday evening. Teamed up with his good friends Vmalice and Valmantia and went to Bloodfields via the Void. We were there for about two and a half hours. I made thirteen points towards XP and earned two AA points so it wasn’t a bad night. We played to midnight PDT which means three AM EDT for them. I really appreciated them playing and its great to have them back in the game.

In a Holding Pattern

Currently everything that Erimus and Qindaar are doing for their Epic Quests are on hold. The Jewish Holydays are cutting into gameplay since I am in the Synagogue all day.

I am in the process of researching Raid Trials and Instances, since Qindaar now requires a subquest of several raid trials and then three crystal signet rings are in “Instance Zones” a bit more planning is required.

Erimus’s Epic Quest requires learning every trade skill in EQ. Currently he is working on his baking skills and fishing skills. This is a slow process that requires much farming of materials or running to specific vendors for products if you don’t want to farm. This eats up a lot of Platinum though, so farming sometimes is the way to go considering you can sell the stuff you don’t need.

Winerian, my Ranger is sitting on the sidelines as he usually does, it is difficult to focus on three different toons at one time.

Snag, and!

Yesterday Qindaar managed to get four out of the seven crystal signet rings he needed for the anguish key. Only to find out the last three are in “instances” that require a certain number of people, also that he has to complete several raid trials before hand. This was quite a surprise and put a stop to the quest abruptly. Will have to get on the phone with some friends and figure out the least number of people I need to do this with.

In the meantime, I am happy with the progress I have made in the last two months or so and am fully enjoying the game once again.

Today We Get the Crystal Signets

Qindaar has to achieve the quest to get the key to enter Anguish. I have to take down six more Dragorn Tacticians in varies zones in Discord. These should not be too difficult unless the entire area around them swarms.

Once we have the key to anguish it a matter of getting the two Orbs of Discord I believe. Hopefully it is as easy as it sounds, but then nothing is ever easy in EQ…except yesterday’s walk in an pick up the horn with ease. I will not be as lucky today.

Great Afternoon

Now that my friends Jim and Robyn are playing EQ Jim text me and said let’s get this guy you need to take down. So we buffed up and went hunting for him. As we were nearing his stronghold we found lots of dead MoB’s and and told Jim that it looks like there is someone here already and we hoped they were not after the same guy.

We got to the place that the guy that I needed the horn of Gallen from was dead, the others had taken him down. I was disappointed to say the least. So while we were waiting to see if he respawned I went into the room to check his corpse and lo and behold they did not loot the horn, so it was easy pickin’s as they say.

So Jim and I started off on the next task which is to secure the key to get into the Anguish Stonghold. So I need to get seven crystal signets from Dragorns in seven different zones. Happy to say one down, six to go. I Feeling good, great afternoon.

Epics, Epics, Epics

Been working on both Qindaar’s 2.0 Epic piece and Erimus’s 1.5 Epic. The best news is that an old friend and his wife have decided to start playing again (with a little push from me). We were an awesome trio back in 1997 – 2006. So with them helping, we should be able to knock out Qindaar’s epic in no time once they get the feel for the game again. Jim has been texting me almost non-stop with what is this and what is that and how do you’s. I LMAO because I was the same way a couple of months ago.

Erimus’s epic sucks, it is almost all farming and baking, brewing etc. Very time consuming with no experience earned since everything is low level. But it does give you a sense of accomplishment when you finally get the Epic piece.

Well back t work now, game play this afternoon.

Staff of Prismatic Power Obtained

Qindaar pulled it off! He obtained his 1.5 Epic yesterday and is not on his way to getting the 2.0 Epic the Staff of Phenomenal Power.

Overall I have back in game for about a month now and am enjoying it immensely. The game has changed a lot in the last six years and even more in the last ten, but Sony manages to keep it entertaining and expanding, the 21st expansion is soon to be out, in BETA testing now. Someday I hope to visit every land the game has to offer.

Already looking forward to what to do after I get my 2.0. I never did the progressions, so I may start those or research what gear I need to advance to level 100. Right now I am not focused on level advancement, I am focused on the game and acquiring achievement points I think this is a real indicator of how you are enjoying the game opposed to just zooming through the levels and hitting that wall and waiting for the next expansion.

Long night last night, determined to get my Qindaar’s tailoring skills to 130+. Managed to finally reach 133 and made the tapestry bag for the Wizard Epic 1.5. All I have left to do is round up the four stones needed to fill the bag for the turn in. Have a birthday party to attend this evening so this will have to be put off until tomorrow.
